Hebron-20 Years Since the Goldstein Massacre: 
This month marked 20 years since the Goldstein Massacre in Hebron.Peace Now and Meretz went to Hebron to show the Israeli public how violent extremists have and continue to threaten Israel's chance for peace and democracy. The event was featured in various Israeli news channels.

As part of the event, the group planned to meet with families and the children who experience the daily ramifications of the Israeli occupation and settler violence in Hebron. The police did not allow the meeting to take place. However, the children had prepared for us a letter. Below is a photo of the children's letter and  a translation.

"After 20 Years of the Ibrahimi Mosque Massacre, the closure which the Israeli Army enforced on us [continues]. The Terrorist Goldstein succeeded to kill 29 Palestinians in the day of the massacre, but the army is working on killing our normal childhood, our daily life, by closing Shouhada street and the shops and the restriction of movement, because of the violence of the settlers and some soldiers.

I hope that you work to protect us from the settlers and to open Shouhada street to study in our kindergarten peacefully

In the News: 
NPO Bill & 46-A:  There are two extremely important issues related to non-profit organizations (NPO)  in Israel. The attempts by right-wing politicians to limit the capacities of left-wing organizations and the unequal allocation of tax benefits to non-profit organizations. For more background on these issues see here. 

46-A : Watch Channel 2 report on Peace Now's research exposing tax benefits to radical right wing organization Honeinu. Honenu provides legal assistance and support to ideological Jewish terrorists such as, Ami Popper convicted of murdering 7 Palestinians and settlers convicted of price tag attacks. Honeinu has also raised money for rebuilding a home that was legally demolished in the illegal Kida outpost.

NPO Bill: Peace Now's has continued the public debate on the NPO bill through various media efforts, including a recent debate with MK Miri Regev (Likud) on Ch.2 evening news. To watch (in Hebrew) see here.
