Mission to Texas: Hurricane Harvey

Dream Doctors Smadar Harpak and Penny Hanuka were dispatched to Houston, in partnership with the Israeli Consulate, to help support survivors of Hurricane Harvey. IDF Field Hospital Training

Dream Doctors Nimrod Eisenberg and Keren Asor-Kliger serve as reservists in the world-renowned Field Hospital Unit of the Israel Defense Forces, which engages in a full-scale exercise every year, to be ready for deployment anywhere in the world at a moment's notice. Dream Doctors army reservists utilize their vast experience working in disaster zones to boost morale among their peers and treat the emotional and psychological wounds of the patients. The unique partnership between the Dream Doctors Project and the IDF has had a tremendously positive impact on countless children worldwide!

Mission to Florida:

Hurricane Irma

After the great success of the Texas Mission, Dream Doctors Smadar Harpak and Sancho Goshen were sent to Miami, in partnership with the Israeli Consulate, to work with evacuees of Hurricane Irma. Smadar and Sancho brought happiness and laughter to the American Red Cross shelter, the Ronald McDonald House, the Jewish Community Center and the Florida Keys. We are posting regular updates on the blog and still collecting donations to fund this critical work!

Cancer Association Volunteer Training

Dream Doctor Iris Lia Sofer was a featured speaker at a training for phone volunteers of The Israel Cancer Association. The group was "enchanted" and "fascinated" by charming Dream Doctor "Olive Emla" who demonstrated for them the hard work, imagination and humanity that medical clowns must have to bring comfort and relief to children with cancer and their families.

New Year's Celebration

The Dream Doctors family came together in Tel Aviv for our annual celebration of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. This year's gathering included a very special "Body Percussion" workshop with Hadassah Armoza and Gil Shedmi and a talk by Dr. Rena Baroch, author of "The Fool in Israeli Drama" and "The Fool in European Drama".
