Theater for Olim by Habonim Dror

Organized by the Tnua Olamit, olim chadashim from Habonim Dror in Israel attended the play “Perfect Strangers” at the Habima Theater. In addition to enjoying the play, the olim met up with old friends. The movement is an important space to be able to connect our new Olim to Israeli culture and be part of their absorption into Israeli society.

Shnat Hachshara

The shnatties who are participating in the Machon of the madrichim had a trip to Poland where they studied about the Jewish community before, during and after the Holocaust. They toured the ghettos, concentration camps and places that tell the story of the Holocaust. The journey at Machon aims to train the madrichim, as educators, about the history of the Holocaust, as well as the importance of education in today's Jewish identity.

The Anglo Shnat started the ADAMA stage, in Jerusalem. In this stage they will have walks, activities and classes on topics that involves Jerusalem, history, Judaism, politics, complexity, peace and conflict and much more.

Act in memory of Yitzchak Rabin in Uruguay

Thursday 4/11 marked the 26th anniversary of the assassination of the former Prime Minister of Israel, Yitzhak Rabin. Habonim Dror Uruguay held a commemoration for the entire Uruguayan Jewish community.

The event was held at the facilities of the NCI Masorti community, and its central message was a tribute to the life of this great peacemaker. We have the words of Ylan Archimowicz, president of the OSU, and Sami Mylsztejn, representative of Haavodá and Brit-Etz in Uruguay. In addition, we were accompanied by the voice of Meital Fabius, Habonim Dror's bogeret, and the music of Ian Markowicz, Betar's boger; and finally, Ariel Hadjez's speech, Habonim Dror's mazkir, focusing on education and the importance of each of the youth movements in the community.

Mini Machaneh in Habonim Dror Netherlands

We had our first big activity at Habonim Dror Holland, 120 chanichim and 40 madrichim, it was at the start of November. The subject was Zionism and the chanichim learnt and discussed about Israel and different types of Zionism.We found it really fun and we enjoyed our time together.

Fall Seminar at Machaneh Miriam in
Habonim Dror North America – Canada

Mahchneh Miriam fall sem 20 This past month we had Machaneh Miriam's fall seminar! It was held at the Hillel House on UBC Campus. We got to have shabbat together - we did a talent show, ate dinner, did rikkud in the middle of UBC, and older chanichimot ended the night with a movie!

On Saturday we had chuggim, peulot and then the chanichimot picked whether they wanted to go swimming or skating. We ended it all off with some hot chocolate and marshmallows. It was really special to be in person all together this year for fall seminar after not being able to last year. Everyone had tons of fun and we made lots of memories!

A 5-day machaneh was held where madrichim and chanichim had fun. There was music, Israeli dancing, walks and a special day dedicated to the memory of Yitzhak Rabin highlighting his place as a leader and defender of democracy.

Habonim Dror Germany

On Tuesday, November 9, the 83rd anniversary of "Kristallnacht" events was marked. Kristallnacht took place in 1938 and was a night of violence and hatred against the Jews in Germany, the vast majority of synagogues, cemeteries and shops of Jews were smashed and burned. The "ZJD-Habonim Dror Germany" youth movement held a memorial ceremony at the movement's house in the presence of the city mayor, the cantor of the Great Jewish Synagogue in Frankfurt, the Imam of the city's Muslim community and the youth movement's families. The ceremony conducted by the movement focused on the question of current anti-Semitism in Germany, xenophobia and the place of Jews in Germany
