Shnat Hachshara World Seminar 2021
Habonim Dror – Where are we heading?

World Seminar for Shnat Hachshara participants, whom are in Israel, took place in Kibbutz Revivim at the beginning of June. The seminar dealt with the question: “Habonim Dror – Where are we heading?”. The participants talked about ideology, movement practices, the future of the Jewish people and the Jewish State and about Habonim Dror’s vision.

The seminar was very educational, experiential, and enjoyable. It was a unique opportunity for the participants from the different countries to finally get to know each other on a more personal level. We are looking forward to our next World Seminar in September! We will send an update.

The Seminar included friends from Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Holland and Uruguay. We are extremely excited towards the upcoming arrival of Chanichei Shant Hachshara from England, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia as well as new friends from Mexico and Holland that are expected to join!

The Tnua activities in light of the Corona virus

MEXICO

The Tnua in Mexico is reaching the end of the year. A small scale Machane for future-to-be Madrichim took place at the end of May. The Machane participants also held Tnua activities for Chanichim. Unfortunately, another Machane that was scheduled to take place next month was cancelled due to several Covid-19 cases within the staff. In the meanwhile, online and face-to-face activities resume according to Covid-19 restrictions.

We all hope to start a “normal” year at the end of August, so that we can gather everyone together for joint activities once again.

SOUTH AFRICA

Lior Sagiv, Our Shaliach in South Africa, shares his insights about the Tnua activities lately: “We are on the verge of a third Covid wave which is expected to be an especially tough one, therefore all the community institutions are shut down. The Tnua’s graduates have started their exams period. We have sent them a nice gift package with healthy treats, stationary and personal good luck blessings.

Nowadays, we are preparing fun-filled online activities such as: enrichment classes, interactive games and learning and conversation sessions. We are preparing activity packages for the upcoming winter break. For example, we made a Bingo board where each week we will post words in Hebrew and the Chanichim will need to spot the words on the board. We’re also going to prepare a cooking kit, card games and more.
