Dear Parents,
The health and wellness of our students, families, and staff are of the utmost importance to us. We want to assure you that we are being extra vigilant amid the growing concerns around the coronavirus. As a result we have decided to take the following actions:
- Our Camp Expo / Open House scheduled for Sunday March 15th has been postponed.
- Semester 4, which was scheduled to start on March 23, will be pushed back at least 2 weeks. We still anticipate posting the class schedule and opening registration, but the start date will be determined later.
- Chess tournaments scheduled for March 22nd and March 29th have been cancelled.
- Our current semester will finish next week, and at the conclusion of classes on Saturday March 21st we will close the center for at least 2 weeks.
While we remain open we want you to know that we have stepped up our efforts to keep our center clean. We are wiping down tables regularly, sanitizing materials, and regularly cleaning frequently touched areas like doorknobs. Please help us to keep your children healthy by encouraging them to wash their hands frequently with soap and water, use the hand sanitizers, and keep their hands and other items out of their mouths. Together we can keep our children safe!
We urge everyone to be familiar with the symptoms of COVID-19 and to heed the advice of federal, state, and local health officials. Patients with the virus have experienced mild to severe respiratory illness with symptoms of:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of Breath
If you or any family members develop these symptoms please seek medical advice.
Do not put others at risk by coming into the South Jersey Innovation Center or any other public place if you or your children are sick.
We have no plans to teach any classes online as our focus has been on providing stimulating and challenging hands-on programs.
