Dear Friends and Colleagues,
End of year is fast approaching, a tremendous amount of positivity is in the air; lock-downs are now (hopefully) a thing of the recent past as high percentages of vaccinated Australians, on the one hand, and falling numbers of new Covid cases, per day, is on the other.
International travel is back on the cards and this years’ end is likely to bring joy and happiness to many of us meeting, connecting and engaging with our dear ones in Australia and overseas.
As we do every month, it is our mere pleasure to share with you our monthly Newsletter, the platform where we share updates and stories coming out of Israel with relations and connections to Australia.
The two countries are gradually moving forward towards a closer economic partnership in the form of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that will see mutual discussions kicking-off at the beginning of 2022. The past week both relevant ministers, the Hon. Dan Tehan, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investments met online with Minister of Economy and Industry of Israel, MK. Orna Barbivai together with their professional teams to lay down the road map for discussions and meet each other’s future expectations.
In addition, and within the auspices of the COP 2026 Glasgow Climate Summit taking place these days in Scotland, we witnessed the first in person meeting between PM’s of both Israel, Naftali Bennett and Australia’s Scott Morrison. Reaffirming the strong bond, support and cooperation the two countries uphold and seek to develop. (See the video below)
In this regard, our office is getting prepared to “save the planet” and participate in the Israel Smart Mobility Conference taking place in Israel next week, between 8-9 November, where Israeli technology companies and Start-ups in the domain of Auto-tech and Smart Transportation will be exhibiting and meeting representatives from the global automotive industry.
Separately, the following week we will meet at Medica 21, the world’s largest annual Med-tech exhibition and conference where 43 Israeli Healthcare and Med-tech companies will be participating and will be holding meetings with distributors, medical companies and various healthcare institutions.
There many other updates coming out of Israel, which you are welcome to read and follow in this newsletter.
We, the team at the Israel Trade commission, would like to wish you a pleasant and enjoyable read.
