Strengthening and supporting the residents of Ofakim.
On the fourth night of Chanukah, the Advanced Yeshiva traveled to the city of Ofakim, which lost 49 of its residents over Simcaht Torah during the terrorist attack. The students and rabbis divided into small groups and went to light candles with the grieving families. Rabbi Yehuda Sadan lit candles with Rachel Bilia, whose son rescued the family through a window and unfortunately was killed by sniper bullets. His brother, Tal, a graduate of the Mechina, fought in Kfar Gaza at the same time. Rabbi Akiva Kashtiel visited the family whose lives were saved by his nephew, Yoatan Eliazri, HY"D. at the end of a moving evening, a Chanukah party was held with the city's residents and the students of the local Mechina, 'Keaayal'.

"על הניסים ועל הנפלאות..."
Thousands of our graduates are in combat in Gaza and on the northern border, including rabbis and staff members. They all spread light and raise the spirits of our warriors. Rabbi Eliezer Baron, head of the Maale Ephrayim Mechina, met his graduates during the fighting and had the privilege of lighting a Chanukah menorah in Gaza.

The rabbis meet with the soldiers in the field.
Every week, the rabbis descend South to meet with the soldiers as they enter Gaza. Rabbi Pinchas Etzion met with dozens of soldiers, embraced and strengthened them, handed them books and booklets for spiritual reinforcement, and blessed them for success in battle and a safe return.

Sufganiyah Operation.
Hundreds of families whose fathers were recruited received a Chanukah doughnut care package to bake special sufganiyot (Chanukah doughnuts) and decorate them together with the family. Attached is a short thank-you video that tells the story of the operation, we invite you to watch it. Our warm thanks to our friends in Israel and abroad who participated in the operation to support the recruited Eli families.

Yeshivat Dror return to their home location in Hiran.
Last week, after two months of operating in Eli due to the war, the yeshiva returned to Hiran. Rabbi Kfir Alon, head of the yeshiva, came specially from Gaza to light the first candle of Chanukah with his students, and afterwards, a joint Chanukah celebration was held with the yishuv, which made up for the interrupted Simchat Torah celebrations.

The Midrasha girls initiated a heartwarming gift to strengthen the families of the workers and employees of 'Bnei David.' The families received a cyclamen along with a special kit of riddles and games designed by the girls for the families. On the first night of Chanukah, the girls celebrated at the home of Rabbi Shachar Vertman and lit the first candle.

Towards the Chanukah holiday, the parents of the Advanced Yeshiva came for joint learning with their sons. Parents learned with their sons in chavruta (partnership) and, at the end, a lesson was given on the topic.

Hamas will not break our tradition
Every year during Chanukah, a family gathering day is organized for the families of 'Bnei David' employees. This year, many women and children, and a few men who received a short break from the reserves, came. The families enjoyed intellectual games, inflatables, a play, and a rich lunch. Rabbi Yigal Levinstein spoke to the children and families.
