Hi  ,

A new study, presented for the first time in this newsletter, reveals that Adalah, the organization that seeks to advance the rights of Israel's Arab minority, is actually harming the Bedouin and trying to prevent the State from raising the vaccination rate among the community's babies, all out if its desire to portray Israel as a racist state.

Also in this newsletter – an invitation to a special tour for friends of the Institute that will take place as part of the initiative 'This is Jerusalem' – Geopolitical Tours of the Capital. We also invite you to read an update of the Institute's other activities and a series of media publications written by its members.

Enjoy reading!

A New Study: Adalah versus the Bedouin

___________11
A new and comprehensive study, conducted by Shmuel Eisenberg, reveals that 'Adalah', the organization that seeks to advance the rights of Israel's Arab minority, is in practice, harming the Bedouin and is attempting to prevent the State from raising the vaccination rate among Bedouin infants, all stemming from its desire to portray as Israel as a racist state.
The findings prove that not only is Israel acting properly, but that it is doing so in accordance with international standards. The study includes an in-depth comparison to the situation in 25 OECD countries.

The study shows that Adalah's guiding principle is not the concern for the rights of the Arab minority but rather, their wish to slander Israel. In so doing, it is in reality harming the very citizens in whose name it acts and, in this case, is even endangering them.

One of the I.D.F.'s main tasks is to safeguard the sovereignty of the State of Israel. It seems however that the army is not protecting its own sovereignty in training zones, a situation expressed by the ongoing phenomenon whereby criminals infiltrate army bases and firing ranges unhindered, stealing weapons and personal equipment.

The soldiers in the field have no-one to turn to for redress or even to lodge a complaint, thereby creating the absurd situation in which simple thieves are humiliating helpless combat soldiers.
As a result, I.D.F weapons are at best reaching criminal hands, and maybe even worse - those of terrorists. We must not wait for the next tragedy!

We at the Institute for Zionist Strategies have therefore decided to join the initiative and ask you to sign and share the petition.

The Rest Day in Israel and around the World

Among all the other discussions regarding the Shabbat, the Special Committee for Distributive Justice this month held a follow-up session on the issue of discrimination against religiously observant sportspeople in official competitions.

During the discussion, the Institute representative, Adi Arbel, presented several goodwill solutions that could solve many of the problems, such as coordinating children's and youth competitions with the Ministry of Education, and the transfer of Premier League basketball matches to Thursday.

Blue and White Human Rights

Here are some updates from the 'Blue and White' Human Rights Movement:

The Biglal HaRuach Program is gaining momentum. It is successfully conducting this year's existing programs as they approach their conclusion. The first concluding event (the I.D.F spirit vis-à-vis) will take place at Ort 'Beit Ha-Arava' in Jerusalem. Now, more schools from southern Israel have recently joined the program and will benefit even before the end of this academic year.

Ma'avarim (Crossings) – we continue visiting the checkpoints each week, to follow the progress of their renovations, to conduct tours, and most importantly – to try and ease the experience for the Palestinians and for security forces we meet.

Research – At the beginning of the year, we opened a research department that is gradually developing and we hope soon to publish studies for the general public and shed light on relevant and important issues, both in the realm of national and humanitarian issues.

At the same time, we have begun preparing for next year (5779) and are enclosing an announcement inviting students and interns to apply for a unique stipends program.

As part of the program, the participants will gain experience in a variety of spheres: education (training and conduct of workshops for youth before enlistment), field activity at the checkpoints (mainly in the Jerusalem periphery) and research of human rights-related issues. Participants will receive a yearly stipend of 10,000 NIS for their participation in the program.

The study's main findings are also cited in the article by Institute CEO Miri Shalem, also published in Makor Rishon.
