The program, developed to aid elite naval commandos from both nations to leverage extraordinary work ethic, leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit of military special forces to develop and grow their own business ventures and to form and benefit from a peer-community of special operators turned entrepreneurs.

A new course offered by Dr. Jeremy Fogel at the Efi Arazi School of Computer Science presents fresh perspectives on issues that Computer Science students at Reichman University will deal with in their careers. According to Dr. Fogel, a lecturer in Jewish philosophy, “The role of an educational institution is not only to transmit information, but also to cultivate and encourage the development of ethical thinking amongst its students and give them the space to do so.”
Students are being asked to discuss moral issues that have arisen as a result of the Digital Revolution, using the viewpoints of great philosophers such as Plato, Socrates, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, etc. Dr. Fogel believes that analyzing current digital developments through the eyes of these philosophers might give students some insights about these developments. Since reality constantly changes with new initiatives and inventions, it has become very hard to explore their ethical outcomes.

Meet RRIS Alum Jonathan Rubin
Originally from Boca Raton, Florida, Jonathan Rubin completed his undergraduate studies at the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy, and Strategy at IDC Herzliya now Reichman University. As an undergraduate student, Jonathan gained valuable work experience by interning at the Israeli Knesset and several startup companies. Jonathan credits his meaningful relationships with his sustainability professors which ultimately shaped the career path he is on.

Jonathan’s next step was studying at Columbia University and earned a Masters in Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from the School of International & Public Affairs.
Macha_Tawil_2
While at Columbia University he co-led a 100-person student delegation to Israel, with Itrek, to meet with sustainability start-ups and government officials to showcase Israel’s advancements in agriculture and farming.
Presently, Jonathan is the owner and manager of Fresh Florida Farms, a vertical farm that specializes in growing Non-GMO, certified Bug-Free, leafy greens. Their products can be found in restaurants, supermarkets, and food banks throughout Florida. They grow hydroponic lettuce, microgreens, sprouts, herbs, and similar crops. While his verticals farm occupies around 1,000 sq of space, the farm yields a ½ an acres worth of lettuce. Fresh Florida Farms is a community-based program serving local stores and supermarkets, but also providing experiences and job training opportunities to people with special needs who come in to work at the farm.

Jonathan maintains the relationships he created with the faculty at Reichman University and would recommend RU to anyone looking to do a degree program in Israel. "Reichman University is a great landing place for anyone looking to move to Israel, enter the start-up scene, or advance into higher education. RUs warm environment, supportive staff, and English programming make it a no-brainer!"
RRIS Student of the Month: Maksym
Macha_Tawil_2
"Hello! My name is Maksym. I'm 21 years old and from Ukraine. Here at Reichman University, I'm studying a one-year Master's program in Government in the 'Counter-Terrorism & Homeland Security' study track. Speaking honestly, I almost always dreamed of living in Israel and had been preparing for it for a few years, but because of the terrifying war that started in my home country and the catastrophe in my home city, Mariupol, my family and I were forced to start everything almost from zero. I was also thrilled that, in the end, everything turned out so well, and I used the opportunity to study here. It's an honor for me to gain academic expertise in security at this institution from such practical experts teaching us."
We're so happy to have you, Maksym!
