Dear Supporters, Friends, and Parents,
I would like to wish you all a happy holiday season. It is hard to believe another year has passed and we are on to 2023.
Reichman University continues to expand with the Dina Recanati Medical School, the Drahi Innovation Center, the Daniel Jusidman International Conference Hall, the Scojen Institute of Synthetic biology, and the Ronson Dormitory building to be completed next year.
All of these projects are made possible because of our dedicated supporters. We are blessed to have people that understand and believe in the Zionist vision of Reichman University.
As you close out the year, please remember that we are always in great need of scholarship funds for our students as well as our Jewish life activities on campus. These activities include last month’s student delegation to Poland, see more below. This trip wouldn’t be possible without supporters’ generosity.
Wishing you all our friends a Chag Chanukah Sameach, and if you are in Israel, you are invited to attend our candle-lighting ceremony on campus on December 22nd.
Please enjoy our last newsletter of 2022.
Warmest Wishes, |

Reichman University Annual Poland Delegation
The Reichman University Poland Delegation arrived back to Israel after a meaningful, overwhelming, and enlightening week.
Georgia Danzger, a second-year Psychology student writes:
"There are no words that can describe the atrocities of the Holocaust and there are also no words that can describe how visiting the sites of these atrocities can make someone feel.
There are no words to explain how it felt to stand on top of a mass grave in which an unimaginable amount of people were buried. How it felt to see a 7-ton pile of human ashes. |
How it felt to see and smell a room full of hundreds of thousands of shoes found at Majdanek Concentration Camp.
How it felt to see a massive pile of human hair shaved off the heads of innocent Jews. How it felt to see names etched into the walls of the barracks at Auschwitz of those who needed a way to be remembered before their ultimate murder.
How it felt to be able to walk out of every concentration camp I visited knowing millions of Jews never had the same privilege.
And how it felt to sing the Hatikva at each site for those who dreamed of the land of Israel. The place I get to call home.
I will be forever grateful for this life-changing experience and for those who I was lucky to share it with.
Never forget."

to Combat Antisemitism on Twitter
Act-IL, well-known for diligently fighting anti-Israeli bias online and on social media, is now dealing with the consequences of Elon Musk's recent acquisition of Twitter. “Now that Elon is taking over Twitter it’s time to finally put our skills to use,” wrote an anonymous user on 4chan, the hate-filled online forum. “There will be maximum chaos at Twitter over the next 48 hours so now is our time to strike while the iron is hot.”

Institute for Liberty and Responsibility Annual Conference-
"Israel Chooses - Challenges and Democratic Resilience"
The Institute for Liberty and Responsibility held its annual conference on the topic of "Israel Chooses - Challenges and Democratic Resilience." RRIS student, Benjamin Amram, received an award at the conference for third place in the institute's research competition concerning political representation in the Knesset and Government. "My thesis applied psychology to political representation theories to further develop these theories behind our voting behavior and policy formation to realize the complexities of our democratic systems. My aspirations are to enter the world of government and diplomacy. This opportunity to learn deeply about the systems that dictate large portions of our lives and contribute to the understandings of democracy motivated me to write the thesis. I spent the day attending the conference and participating in a round table discussion with world-renowned democracy researcher, Yascha Mounk. It is exciting to meet the intellects that are working on finding solutions to the threats that democracy faces."

How can young people improve their negative body image?
A Study by Prof. Guy Doron and Colleagues
“Fine-tuning one’s inner monologue” on body image can minimize the distress caused by negative body perceptions in young women between the ages of 20-30 who often develop eating disorders, according to Prof. Guy Doron of Reichman University in Herzliya and colleagues at the University of Padua in Italy.
The adjustment of this “inner monologue” is done using an application that Doron developed in Israel with the company GGtude, which was established in Tel Aviv in 2019, conducts research and offers digital mental health tools.
In today’s world, the standard of beauty is almost impossible to attain, said Doron of Reichman’s Ivcher School of Psychology.

Meet The Alumni, Candice "Candy" Tollman, 24, from Cape Town.
Candice is a Visual Communications alumna. "I chose this track based on my interest in media and TV production."
"I now work for the DailyMail as an Associate Editor for media platforms, including Snapchat and MSN. I also do video presenting on the side, which is my main passion."
Candice's Tip: "RU helped me tremendously. I always say to students looking to study the Communications track, the university has all the opportunities at your fingertips but it’s up to you to grab them. Build a rapport with your teachers, pick their brains with questions, sign up for those extra courses and get acquainted with LinkedIn. Your network is fundamental when starting out your career."
