EDUCATION – 'ACADEMIC CITY'

The Tamar Regional Council joins with the Tel Aviv University and will be the first council to sign the agreement of an "Academic city". 
As part of the "Academic City" program, leading teachers at the Ein Gedi High School in the Tamar Regional Council will study online academic courses at Tel Aviv University as part of the matriculation program. Students studying in the program will be able to take the university campus, accumulate academic credit and even be admitted to the university as part of a new admission program, without the need for a psychometric test.

Life at the Dead Sea is abundant, vibrant and ongoing.  Here you can read about a few of the projects being developed at the present time and we hope that you will read with interest how the lowest place on earth is rising up to meet the rest of the world with environmental issues, technology, education, commerce and tourism.
The Tamar Regional Council, as with every other council in the country, on the 30th October, 2018 underwent municipal elections.  We are pleased to announce that for a fourth term of office, Mr. Dov Litvinoff was voted back in by the majority of electors and we wish him every success for the next five years.  

DEAD SEA MARATHON
 

Running on the water is physically an impossibility??  Well here, at the lowest place on earth we are proud to be holding the first ever Dead Sea Marathon, Israel and the participants really will run on the Dead Sea lake.

NEW RECREATION GROUNDS IN TAMAR COMMUNITIES
 

The Tamar Regional Council pledged to its communities to update, renew and upgrade the recreation grounds in each community.  As part of this plan the children of Kibbutz Ein Gedi are delighted with their new playground.
 

LANGUAGE AND EXTREMITIES CONVENTION
 

Language and Extremities Convention held in November at the Dead Sea Research Institute was a conference on the language and periphery.
