Shalom,

We are excited to close 2019 with issue # 5 of Shituf-yeda, showing that, however long and complex collaborative social impact processes may be, they have the power to change reality for the better. See, for example, how our collaborative processes in the State Comptroller's Office succeeded in bringing about a change in the Interior Ministry's policy on how to deal with sexual harassment in the local authorities in Israel.

You are also invited to get acquainted with a new knowledge platform coming from Australia, which is particularly relevant to everyone involved in collaborative processes, and to get an impression of the fascinating learning sessions we recently held in Sheatufim entitled "Being a Partner in a Collaborative Process".
Wishing you an enjoyable read and a year full of collaborative social impact!

The New Age of Auditing: Public Participation at the State Comptroller's Office

This is what real change looks like: The Interior Ministry decided for the first time to designate a commissioner to deal with sexual harassment in the local authorities - following an audit report by the State Comptroller's Office on this issue, which included a public participation process. This process, lead by sheatufim, included physical and online consultations. It bears witness to the significant change in the Comptroller’s work processes and the auditing theory, which are suited to the new age, with the integration of the perspective of the general public. Are you facing a complex problem? You are not alone...

Newly launched website in Australia - platformc.org defines itself as a "knowledge and learning platform especially created to offer support, learning and connections for people tackling big, tough problems and creating large-scale impact through collaboration". The site offers a variety of interesting tools and steps on how to create a collaborative change. An example is this questionnaire, where you can evaluate the stage of the collaborative process you are part of, and get the appropriate tools and knowledge that are relevant to you.

"Being a partner in a collaborative process" - Impressions from two learning sessions

Over the past month, we hosted and met about 100 leading partners in collaborative processes operating with various strategies in a wide range of social arenas in Israel. We dived together into discussions about the uniqueness of collaborative processes and how these are differentiated from different configurations of collaborative action such as partnership and cooperation.

We dealt with questions about the unique status of the third sector within a collaborative process; the ways in which the liaison between the individual organization and the wider collaborative process can be maximized; and the role of the participant during the collaboration in the connection between these two. We touched upon a variety of fascinating issues and raised poignant questions for further exploration and work on collaborative processes, which we intend to examine in depth.

You are invited to check out the summary of the meetings held so far (in Hebrew) and contact us for more information on any of the topics.
