The new Jewish year begins under a cloud of constant change and uncertainty, as we face the challenges of dealing with the corona virus. The economic and social implications have created a state of emergency that requires the mobilization of all the players involved in socio-economic change. At this time, the need to build trust and to create mechanisms for collaborative action in order to promote social change, is stronger than ever.
In light of this, we have set the goal of making Sheatufim the home of Collective Impact in Israel, promoting systemic responses to root problems in Israeli society. In the comming year, we will direct our professional capabilities to strengthening the tools and perceptions of leaders from all sectors for promoting social-systemic change, building relationships of trust and collaboration for the benefit of Israeli society.
Utilizing the experience we have gained over the past eight years in implementing and developing the Collective Impact approach, we will be acting as a backbone organization in three arenas: In the field of science-technology education, we will lead the 5X2 Initiative to its next mission, promoting STEM excellence skills.
In addition, we will launch two new collective impact initiatives - one in the field of the elderly in the community, and the other on a social issue that will be determined in the coming months. We will plan and initiate a long-term action strategy for both initiatives, while also creating rapid responses to the growing gaps resulting from the Corona crisis.
Our inspiration for these new initiatives is Operation Vashamarta, which we recently established in partnership with Zionism2000 in order to protect the residents of geriatric institutions from the corona virus, and to prevent the collapse of the Israeli health system.This operation demonstrated, once again, the power of cross-sector collaborative action, even in emergencies.
